The National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC in Kebbi State, has urged the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, in Kebbi State to hasten registration and validation of tax identification number of Kebbi manufacturers
State Coordinator of the agency, Mr. Muyideen Folorunsho Suleiman, stated this when the management staff of NAFDAC visits FIRS office in Birnin Kebbi.
Suleiman noted that most of the NAFDAC clients are illiterates and ignorant of the procedures needed to comply with the government policy mandating them to access their online accounts of NAFDAC application portal.
Earlier, chairman of Association of Table Water Producers (ATWAP) Birnin Kebbi Local Government, Alhaji Aliyu Babangida Bande, also narrated that their members find it difficult to get their TIN activated.
In his response, the Tax Controller of Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) Alhaji Isa Abubakar declared the readiness of the revenue services to render the required assistance to the NAFDAC clients to ease their businesses challenges.
He noted that activation of TIN could only be done by individual manufacturer not through group of manufacturers stressed that, manufacturer should come to the FIRS office individually to process their tax identification numbers.
However, both Mallam Hussaini Auta and Mr. Buhari Galadima from NAFDAC informed the FIRS management that many of the agency’s clients have collected their companies certificates from the tax revenue services with notification that their TIN have been activated, yet, they couldn’t access their accounts with NAFDAC.
In his reaction, Mr. Najib Faruk of FIRS attributed the challenges of activation of TIN to poor network, migration promax and office challenges.
