Benue State Governor Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia has charged members of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission, BSIEC to be fair, just as well as always consider the interest of the state above personal interest in the discharge of their duties.
Governor Alia gave the charge when he forwarded names of the eighth members to the Benue State House of Assembly for screening into BSIEC.
The governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula made available to journalists, Thursday, in Makurdi, gave the names to include, John Chen as Chairman, Terhemen Shom, Theodore Iordye Uchi, Gloria Clement, Peter Baba, Ogagbolo as members while Gisaor Vincent is to serve as secretary.
Governor Alia in the correspondence revealed to the Assembly that the nominees were considered suitable based on their track records.
He further revealed that the members would be responsible for the conduct of local government elections in the state and wished them best of luck in their assignment.
