Wamakko charges Northwest University governing members

The new governing members of Northwest University have been challenged to effectively discharge their duties.

Founder of the University and the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Institution, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko gave the charged while inaugurating the members of the governing council at the Senate building of the university.

While inaugurating the Council, Senator Wamakko noted that men of noble character, vision, and integrity were appointed to share their experiences in moving the university to the next level.

Governor Ahmad Aliyu, who was represented by his deputy, Alh. Idris Muhammad Gobir, applauded Senator Wamakko’s concern for education.

In their separate speeches, some members of the council thanked management of the university for the opportunity given to them to serve the university, assuring them to commit themselves towards the development of the university and education of Sokoto state as well.

The statement by Bashar Abubakar further said those inaugurated as members of the governing council of the university include former minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Ahmad Abdullahi Kalambaina, and Professor Musa Garba Mai Tafsir.

Others are Professor Mukhtar Umar Bunza, Engr. Faruk Mayana, Alhaji Bello Abubakar Wamakko, Alhaji Abdulkadir Jelani Kalgo and Galadiman Garin Sokoto Alh. Aliyu Attahiru Galadanchi.

Also, an e-Library named after the minister for state Water Resources and Sanitation Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo was commissioned by Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakkao.
