The Sokoto State Government, under the leadership of Governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, has taken a significant step to support students by settling the examination fees for WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB for all final-year students in the state. This initiative applies to both indigenes and non-indigenes residing in the state.
The state government has covered the registration fees for all eligible students, ensuring that no financial burden falls on parents or guardians.
This move underscores the government’s commitment to promoting educational development and supporting students across the state.
In a statement, this initiative is expected to alleviate the financial burden on families and encourage more students to participate in these critical examinations, ultimately enhancing their academic prospects. Sokoto State’s Unique Approach to Supporting Students
“Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s initiative to sponsor WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB examination fees for all final-year students in Sokoto State sets it apart from other states, which typically sponsor only one examination type. This comprehensive approach demonstrates the government’s commitment to educational development and student success”, the statement added.
The state government covers fees for all three major examinations, ensuring students can take multiple exams without financial burden.
A dedicated team from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education will oversee the examination process to ensure compliance and proper conduct.
The government urges stakeholders to support this initiative by ensuring eligible students sit for their exams without hindrance.
The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Prof. Ahmad Ladan Ala, extends his best wishes to all final-year students, praying for their success in the upcoming examinations.
